    Product Information

    Product Description

This Cell Signaling Technology® antibody retains the antigen-binding Fab regions of the original parent host sequence from which it is engineered. This antibody is expected to exhibit the same species cross-reactivity as S-Tag (D2K2V) XP® Rabbit mAb #12774.

    Product Usage Information

    Application Dilution
    Immunofluorescence (Immunocytochemistry) 1:200 - 1:800

    Storage

Supplied in 10 mM sodium HEPES (pH 7.5), 150 mM NaCl, 100 µg/mL BSA, 50% glycerol, and less than 0.02% sodium azide. Store at –20°C. Do not aliquot the antibody.

    Protocol

    Specificity / Sensitivity

S-Tag (D2K2V) XP® Mouse Chimeric mAb recognizes transfected levels of recombinant protein containing an S-Tag. This antibody detects exogenously expressed S-tagged proteins in cells expressed under a CMV promoter. Expression under other promoters has not been evaluated.

    Source / Purification

This recombinant chimeric antibody is engineered from S-Tag (D2K2V) XP® Rabbit mAb #12774 according to animal-free protocols. The chimeric antibody retains its antigen-binding Fab regions from the original rabbit monoclonal antibody but contains a mouse-derived Fc domain. When multiplexing, Fc-directed rabbit secondaries are required to detect rabbit-host primary antibodies.

The parent antibody, S-Tag (D2K2V) XP® Rabbit mAb #12774, is produced by immunizing animals with a synthetic S-Tag peptide.

    Background

Epitope tags are useful for the labeling and detection of proteins using immunoblotting, immunoprecipitation, and immunostaining techniques. Because of their small size, they are unlikely to affect the tagged protein’s biochemical properties.

S-Tag is an epitope tag composed of a 15 residue peptide that, together with S-protein, comprises pancreatic ribonuclease S (1).
